Vagaro for tattoo artists
Vagaro combines salon and spa software with a marketplace. Its cost grows by bookable calendar and optional feature.
Vagaro combines appointment scheduling, front desk tools and a marketplace. It may cover several jobs for your shop. Before comparing prices, list which features you use and which cost extra.
Priced per calendar, then per feature
As of September 15, 2026, Vagaro's US pricing page listed $23.99 USD a month for one bookable calendar on its promotional rate, or $30 at the standard rate, and its support article put the add-on for each calendar beyond the first at $10 a month, up to seven, after which extra calendars are free. That puts seven calendars at $83.99 a month on the promotional rate or $90 a month at the standard rate. Text messaging, a branded app, payroll, accounting connectors, and payment processing are priced separately.
A four-artist shop that wants SMS reminders pays for four calendars plus the messaging add-on. With modular pricing, the final cost depends on the features the shop enables.
tats.to costs $0, $19 or $49 per artist per month, with no add-ons and 0% commission. A shared Studio account for up to 10 artists on one bill is available by consultation at $199 a month, approved before checkout rather than instant self-service.
Built for a service menu, not for custom work
Vagaro begins with a service menu: each service has a duration and price, the client selects one, and the calendar fills. Custom tattoo work may need several sessions, healing time, reference photos, and a conversation before it becomes a booking.
In tats.to, a client sends their idea and reference images for you to review. You can accept, decline or ask for more information. Accepting creates a booking. If you ask for a deposit, it stays marked as awaiting deposit until you confirm receipt.

What Vagaro has that tats.to does not
- A marketplace where people can find your business. tats.to pages are built to be read by search engines and supported AI assistants, but we do not have a consumer marketplace. You still need to share your page.
- Point of sale, retail inventory, payroll and accounting integrations. These are outside what tats.to offers or plans to build.
- A manager view across every artist's calendar and shop-wide commission tracking. tats.to Studio adds a shared shop page for up to 10 listed artists, not that manager view.
A six-chair shop with a front desk, retail, and staff payroll may need Vagaro features that tats.to does not offer. An independent artist may prefer a smaller product focused on booking requests, deposits, and a portfolio page.
Questions
Does tats.to work for a multi-artist shop?
Each artist can use their own account and page. A shared Studio account, one shop page listing up to 10 artists on one bill, is available by consultation. Contact us to discuss it if you need one account for the whole shop.
Do I pay extra for reminders on tats.to?
No. Email reminders go to the client roughly 24 hours and 2 hours before a confirmed booking on every plan, and there is no messaging add-on to buy.
Can I import my client list?
There is no bulk importer today. tats.to builds the client book from the requests and bookings that come through it, and you can export clients, bookings and leads at any time.
